About the Happy Face Line
A popular line dating from 1971, featuring the recognizable "Happy" - "Smiley" face that was extremely popular in the 70's. The line consisted of Cookie Jars, Mugs, Plates, Bowls, and Planters.
Most of the Happy Face line was yellow in color with black for eyes and mouth. However there are variations that include "just yellow". Other variations in color were typically white, with either red or black used for eyes and mouth.
While the Happy Face line was a line unto itself, there is overlap in our directory given that the mugs, will also be found in "Mugs, Steins and Decanters". The Happy Face Cookie Jar also shows up in "Cookie Jars", and one planter show up in the "Floraline Line".
The Happy Face Line used variations of the popular 1940-45 McCoy mark, with "USA" below it. Other marks include LLC (Lancaster Colony, accompanied by the popular "McCoy" mark and a number. We have several different variations of the entire line shown in our listings below.
NOTE: We have amassed a collection of images of many of the known Happy Face pieces below, however we are always looking for more. If you know of one that is not listed, please let us know by contacting us at webmaster@mccoypottery.com
